Extended temperature range |
|

The operating temperature range greatly limits the use of electronic modules in Russian process automation systems. Developed for European climatic conditions, most devices cannot withstand Russia's bitter cold. Of course, you can use various systems and devices to maintain the desired temperature, such as heated cabinets. However, this requires a significant increase in power consumption.
The most critical moment in the operation of any digital electronics at low temperatures is the moment of launch. Afterward, due to their intrinsic heating, electronic elements themselves will come to an acceptable temperature, but at the moment of launch they are most likely to fail.
The permissible storage temperature is another important factor. At low temperatures, a change occurs in the geometric dimensions (thermal compression) of the PCB itself, the electronic components installed on it, and the solder. The electrical contacts may break, either at solder points or in the components themselves. To prevent this, it is important to select the right components and materials and follow the prescribed production procedures.
Our company has developed and launched special versions of ADC/DAC input-output modules for use in low temperature conditions. This set of modules suffices for setting up the majority of automation systems for various purposes. The ADC/DAC modules are designed to operate in temperatures from -10 to +50 °C. The impetus for creating this group of devices came from the need to use them in automation systems in various regions of Russia.
